The Sutra of Infinite Meanings is the spiritual foundation of the Jing Si Dharma-lineage and Tzu Chi School of Buddhism. It also contains the essence of the Lotus Sutra. As Master Cheng Yen often shares, "The sutras are a path, and this path is a road to walk on. All sutras and scriptures can be applied to our society and our relationships." The Dharma that the Buddha expounded over 2000 years ago is being put into practice by Tzu Chi volunteers today. The teachings are being realized not only in Tzu Chi's birthplace, Taiwan, but in every corner of the world, wherever Tzu Chi volunteers have made the aspiration to benefit others.
The teachings of the Sutra of the Infinite Meanings guide us to clearly identify our path through this world and help us return to our pure nature. If we aspire to put these teachings into practice, then surely we can bring purity to the world. "Bringing purity to all hearts and harmony to all of society" is the best way to put an end to all disasters in the world.
